Freestyle Skiing wins for Christiansen and Goepper in NZ

Norway’s Tiril Sjaastad Christiansen and USA’s Nick Goepper from USA won the ladies and men’s events at the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup slopestyle in Cardrona, New Zealand. It was the grand finale of this year’s Audi Quattro Winter Games NZ.
2014 Olympic Slopestyle course details revealed

Today FIS released details about the design of the slopestyle course to be used during the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games.

At the most recent Executive Board meeting of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) held on 9th August 2013 in Moscow (RUS), the proposed 2016 Lillehammer Winter Youth Olympic Games Programme was on the agenda.

23 Organisers registered for 3rd World Snow Day

On 1st July 2014 registration for the 3rd edition of World Snow Day (19th January 2014) was launched. In the short space of six weeks, 23 Organisers in 14 countries have already registered for the next event.

Sochi Freestyle and Snowboard venues make progress

Following the Olympic Results Information Service (ORIS) homologation testing of the systems in Sochi (RUS) in early July 2013, the FIS Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard staff met with experts of the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee for another site inspection.

Meet a Legend: Beckie Scott

Canada’s Beckie Scott became the first Canadian and indeed first North American to win an Olympic Gold medal in Cross-Country Skiing at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City (USA).
