Kaarel Nurmsalu ends his career

Kaarel Nurmsalu, who returned to the Ski Jumping World Cup last winter after a three-year break, has now decided to end his career.

According to a report of the Estonian newspaper Postimees, health problems lead to this decision of the 26-year-old. "I don't want to go into detail, but when I found out what the problem was, I made this decision. I already suspected that something was wrong last winter, then we made some tests and it became clear", the Estonian, who will now work for his sponsor Ramirent, is quoted on postimees.ee.

Kaarel Nurmsalu has already ended his career in 2014, back then for financial reasons. Last year he decided to start a comeback and returned to the World Cup mid-January 2017 in Wisla (POL).

After this comeback, his best results were two 30th place finishes in Oberstdorf (GER) and PyeongChang (KOR). The bronze medalist of the 2011 Junior World Championships achieved the best World Cup result of his career in March 2014 with a sixth place in Oslo (NOR).
