On A meeting of the leaders of the Estonian Ski Union the experienced Mati Alaver was offered to become the main coach of the national team.

Alaver (on photo) was the Main coach of the national team for a long time but he had to leave the position after disqualification of his ward Andrus Veerpalu on the doping issue.

In 2011 the Estonian specialist was the main candidate for the position of the Main coach of the Russian national cross-country ski team. But after the doping incident this idea became inappropriate.
