Northug probably will skip the Olympic Games in Sochi
The Norwegian Ski Federation asked the World Cup winner Petter Northug to change his sponsor contracts and threatened him with no place in the national team squad at the Olympics.
The Head of the Federation Eric Roste stated that all the athletes which represent Norway in international competitions have to satisfy the requirements of the International Ski Federation (FIS).
“We have to defend rights of our partners and we do this – said Roste. – Ones who won’t do this won’t take part in official FIS competitions – the Olympic Games, the World Cups, the World Championships”.
