Jens Filbrich injured in a training accident
German top Cross-Country skier Jens Filbrich crashed on roller skis during a treadmill workout and suffered a brain concussion.

At the training centre in Oberhof Jens Filbrich and Axel Teichmann where simulating on the treadmill the courses of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, when the accident happened. “Jens mist have put one of his poles between his legs and topped over,” Arnd Krause the chief of sport science in the German Ski Federation said to DPA. Filbrich suffered a brain concussion and a lacerated wound above his right eye. Filbrich was flown to Meiningen hospital for observation.

Consequences of the injury on the preparation are still unclear. “I hope that Fibs can leave the hospital tomorrow,” Axel Teichmann said to DPA.

The entire Cross-Country world is wishing Jens Filbrich a speedy recovery.
