Olympic Champion Julia Dujmovits masters her first Ironman
Olympic PSL Champion Julia Dujmovits has successfully competed in her career's first Ironman race. The 26-year-old raceboard specialist mastered the half distance at the Kohala Coast, Hawaii, in 6:05:27 hours and thus placed eleventh in her age group.

“It was an amazing experience. Just incredible”, Dujmovits said.

The Sulz native has been training for her new season on Maui, her personal preparation island, since April 28.

Besides normal sessions – mainly to better the endurance – as well as some cycling, kiting and yoga, the Ironman 70.3 was also on her schedule.

“I'm very happy about my result. Swimming and biking was super easy, the running part pretty tough. I never ran 21km in my whole life before. I definitely was at my limit”, she reports.

“But it was good; especially as I didn't really prepare for it and just came out of my normal training.”
