Until last weekend's competitions in Östersund, Sweden the city had not hosted an FIS Cross-Country World Cup since 1995. The World Cup returned with a classic sprint and a 10/15 km individual start free technique competition. The sprint course was the most unique of the season with the athletes skiing up the grandstand and over the back of the Biathlon range wall.
