Highest prize money at WSC in ski jumping
Besides medals and prestige the athletes can also win a good amount of prize money in Falun. A total of CHF 870 600,- is awarded in the three disciplines, ski jumping, cross country skiing and nordic combined.

With CHF 72 000,- (67 000,- Euro) per individual competition the ski jumpers get the highest prize money at this World Championships, in cross country skiing it's CHF 40 000,- per race, in nordic combined CHF 33 300,-.

But unlike in the World Cup, where this amount is divided between the Top 30, only the Top 6 get their share at the WSC. This means that Rune Velta, the World Champion on the normal hill, not only got a gold medal, but also EUR 27 000,-, the silver medalist gets EUR 17 000,- and the bronze medalist EUR 10 000,-. In the ladies' individual competition a total of CHF 20 000,- were up for grabs, in the team competitions the prize money is CHF 70 000,-.

One half of the prize money is paid by the International Ski Federation (FIS), the other half by the organizer.
