

From 24th March to 1st April 2015, the FIS Freestyle Junior World Ski Championships are showcasing over 300 talented youngsters from 27 countries in Chiesa/Valmalenco (ITA). It is the fourth consecutive time that the experienced Organisers are hosting the prestigious event. The Championships kicked off with an Opening Ceremony on Saturday, 21st March in downtown Valmalenco, featuring a team parade and speeches by local authorities.
During the action-packed week, a total of 36 medals will be awarded in the FIS Freestyle Skiing disciplines for both, ladies and men.
The full competition programme looks as follows:
24 March, 13:30 CET: Aerials
25 March, 13:30 CET: Moguls
26 March, 13:30 CET: Dual Moguls
28 March, 13:30 CET: Slopestyle
30 March, 13:30 CET: Halfpipe
1 April, 13:00 CET: Ski Cross
Among the highly talented field of athletes are Morgan Schild (USA), moguls World Cup rookie of the year, Margarethe Aschauer (GER), 7th at the Kreischberg World Champs in ski cross and 6th in two World Cups this season, Lloyd Wallace (GBR), World Cup aerialist and recent Europa Cup winner, and halfpipe and slopestyle young guns Beau-James and Jackson Wells (both NZL), among many other.
Freestyle Skiing Coordinator Joseph Fitzgerald stated that, “these are very special competitions in a very special place that has really embraced Freestyle Skiing and also Snowboarding in the past years. It’s fantastic to bring all of these very talented young skiers together in one place where they can compete against each other and have a great experience. FIS would particularly like to thank Franco Vismara for his generous help and support along with the community of Valmalenco who has put on this event and World Cups for many years.”
