First steps for 2015/16 TV Schedule

At the invitation of FIS, TV producers representing the main central European and Nordic broadcasters along with the European Broadcasting Union and Infront Sports & Media as well as FIS timing and data partner, Swiss Timing, gathered in Zurich (SUI) for the FIS World Cup Broadcaster Meeting on 27th April 2015.

The gathering included updates from the Race Directors of the Alpine, Cross-Country, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined disciplines, who each provided a review of the 2014/15 season in addition to presenting detailed updates on the calendars for the upcoming season. The European Broadcasting Union and Infront Sports & Media also gave reviews from the last season.

The focus of the meeting was the calendar planning for the upcoming 2015/16 season where the various broadcasters were able to provide input on optimal broadcast times for the competitions across all disciplines to avoid potential conflicts with other television programmes.

Following the calendar planning, the floor was open for discussion and the TV producers had the opportunity to provide valuable feedback about what worked well last season and areas for improvement in the future.

The 2015/16 season calendars for all six FIS disciplines will be finalised at the upcoming FIS Calendar Conference in Varna (BUL) from 2nd – 6th June 2015 and approved by the FIS Council on 7th June 2015.
