

FIS and the Finnish Ski Association are mourning the death of Ilkka Tiilikainen, who died of a sudden illness on Tuesday, 26th May.
Ilkka Tiilikainen worked for decades in numerous positions with the Finnish Association and in the International Ski community. He was Chairman of the Finland Jumping Association and a member of the FIS Nordic Combined Committee.
Tiilikainen was a longtime member of the Lahti Ski Club and Executive Board member and Chairman of the Lahti Ski Games. Most recently, he was involved with the upcoming 2017 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Organising Committee.
"Ilkka was a reliable, positive and respected personality who worked selflessly over decades for Lahti, the Finnish and international ski sport. He always wanted, and was able to, objectively seek constructive perspectives on issues. I would like to express, our deepest condolences on behalf of the entire Finnish ski community to the family of Ilkka," commented President of the Finnish Ski Association, Jukka-Pekka Vuori.
