Maria José Rienda becomes Andalusia Director General of Sports
Former Alpine skier Maria José Rienda (SPA) was appointed as Director General of Sports at the government of Andalusia. Her role, which is the most important political position in the Andalusian sports community, will work with both summer and winter sports.
The 40-year-old retired from skiing in 2011. She specialised in giant slalom and was one of the top racers on the Audi FIS Ski World Cup tour where she claimed six victories.
