Stefan Huber joins FIS Staff as Event Director

Stefan Huber (GER) has been appointed as FIS Event Director and will begin the newly developed role on 1st July 2018.

Huber was formerly the Secretary General of the Oberstdorf Organising Committee and Ski Club Oberstdorf for 11 years from 2006 to 2017.

While there, he organised FIS World Cup events in all FIS disciplines in Oberstdorf and the Allgäu region. The highlights include hosting the Four Hills tournament annually, the Tour de Ski as well as the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 and Ski Flying World Championships in 2008. Additionally, Huber was involved in the five candidacies for the World Championships, which led to the successful bid for the Oberstdorf 2021 edition of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.

At the 2014 Sochi and 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games, Huber oversaw the Sport Production at the Cross-Country Venue.

Stefan will work together with each of FIS disciplines and their competition management personnel on the development and implementation of the sport and event organisation strategies, creating and using synergies between the FIS disciplines.
