On 1st July, event registration opened for World Snow Day 2019.
As soon as registration was online events began applying from all around the world. Within a few minutes eight countries had registered to be a part of World Snow Day 2019, which will take place on 20th January.
For many Organisers, the registration day also marks the opportunity to take home an award as up for grabs is the Line Honours in the World Snow Day Awards, which recognises the first event to register for World Snow Day.
This year, the Line Honours winner was from Serbia as Ski Klub Stara Planina was the first to complete their registration, edging out Seeking Himalays (IND) and Zakopane (POL) by only 26 seconds. By taking the Line Honors the club will receive 1‘000 CHF towards supporting their event.
Ski Klub Stara Planina is no stranger to World Snow Day and 2019 will see them celebrate their third edition. The small club will provide free transportation, lessons, lift passes and equipment for a select group of children from the region.
