Test with three judges
After a long and emotional discussion, the FIS Ski Jumping Sub-Committee has decided to carry out competitions with only three instead of the usual five jumping judges for the first time.

Tests at two locations

During the FIS Grand Prix 2013 (Link: Calendar SGP ») only three instead of the five judges shall rate the jumps and landings of the athletes at the events in Hinterzarten and Klingenthal.

Right now, with five judges, the highest and the lowest mark doesn't count for the total score of an athlete, when there are only three judges all three marks will count.

Change of the inrun length only for safety reasons

It was also decided that the coaches will only have the possibility to reduce the inrun length for safety reasons and not as a tactical measure. Last winter the possibility to change the inrun gate was used by the coaches also for tactical reasons.

Both proposals of the FIS Ski Jumping Sub-Committees have to be confirmed by the FIS Councin early June in Dubrovnik (CRO).
