World Snow Day sets 430’000 participant record
The final World Snow Day report will be published in one week and confirm that over 430’000 participants were part of the celebrations on 20th January 2013.

The 2nd Edition of World Snow Day saw events from as small as 30 to as large as 120’000 participants. All of the Organiser’s goal to give children the opportunity to explore, enjoy and experience snow sports was realised.

Over the past two months, the World Snow Day team has been working continuously to analyse numbers, follow up figures from Organisers and process information provided to them by the public. The result is a participation rate which instills FIS and the World Snow Day team with great confidence that the objective to reach half a million can be achieved.

FIS President Gian Franco Kasper remarked: “When we embarked on the World Snow Day project we set a goal of 500’000 by the third year. We are confident that with the continued outstanding work from the Organisers and the enthusiasm of parents around the world we will reach this goal during the third edition on the 19th January 2014.”

Look out next week for the release of the World Snow Day Final Report, there are more great numbers.
