Welcome to Cavtat-Dubrovnik

The traditional FIS Calendar Conference has begun with the first meetings on Wednesday, 5th June in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

More than 600 representatives of the extended FIS family will gather at Hotel Croatia in Cavtat-Dubrovnik that promises beautiful sunshine and blue skies, to attend a variety of meetings during the next three days.

The participants were officially welcomed by the Croatian Ski Association with a reception and cocktail dinner on the evening of 5th June at Hotal Croatia, located right on the beautiful coastline of the beautiful seaside town of Cavtat near Dubrovnik. Needless to say, the various terraces, poolside and outside restaurants are popular locations for informal meetings!

The first conference day has seen several Committee and Coordination Group meetings including the Alpine Executive Board and PR & Mass Media Committee. Some forty additional meetings (click here for schedule) will follow during the coming days.

Friday and Saturday will feature the 3rd edition of the all-FIS discipline World Cup Organisers' Seminar on the topic of “Money and Skiing”, whilst the schedule also includes a briefing with the Candidates for the 2018 and 2019 FIS World Ski Championships.

The FIS Calendar Conference will be followed by a meeting of the FIS Council on Monday, 10th June. The most important items on the Council’s Agenda will include the proposals from the Technical Committees that come out of their meetings these days including confirmation of the FIS World Cup schedules for the 2014/15 season, as well as acceptance of provisional membership applications.
