Besides refining rules for slopestyle, members of the Freestyle Ski Committee reviewed their working plan which started in autumn 2010 and includes the “Vision 2020”. The initiative focuses on modernising the discipline, attracting youth, facilitating the understanding of rules and promoting Freestyle Skiing. All of these aspects are on a positive track.

During the meetings, the Committee received reports from the Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games Organising Committees, in addition to the World Championship Organisers 2015 and 2017 of Kreischberg (AUT) and Sierra Nevada (SPA). 

Regarding the Committee’s organisational structure, it divided into advisory groups by event, in addition to Officials and Technical Delegates. Furthermore, one overall group will be responsible for competitions and one for promotions. In this regard, the first meeting on Freestyle Promotions was held, taking a look at current statistics with the aim of further enhancing the potential of Freestyle Skiing and its communication channels.

Another key advisory group is competition scheduling which is planning the calendar through 2017/18. Freestyle Skiing has a strong set of Organisers and partner Associations which have stable conditions and therefore have the ability to plan this far ahead.
