Prior and Parrot win Slopestyle in Stoneham
Christy Prior (NZL) and Maxence Parrot (CAN) clinched the penultimate slopestyle competition of the 2014 FIS Snowboard Freestyle World Cup tour which took place in Stoneham, Canada, today.

Prior celebrated her career first at the Snowboard Jamboree presented by Mazda in collaboration with Videotron Mobile thanks to a strong second run in the ladies' finals earning 89.75.

“Thank goodness I landed on my feet! It feels really good to put down a run and win that competition. I’ve done a few competitions this season and this is my first comp that I landed a run, I’m just relieved.

I definitely was confident we had a few days riding, my confidence grew every day. I put together a run that I thought would be consistent, I’m stoked,” she said.

Prior, who had stomped a switch 540 inverted to backflip indy, backside 540 mute on the three-kicker line and then showcased a switch boardslide to gap to lipslide to 50/50 backside 180 out in the jibbing section thus became the second snowboarder from New Zealand to ever win a World Cup event.

Cheryl Maas (NED, 85.25) and Anna Gasser (AUT, 84.25), who had been in the lead after the first run, rounded out the ladies' podium as second and third respectively.

Maas landed a switch backside 180 indy to backside 360 indy, backside 720 tail, 50/50, backside boardslide and a 50/50 frontside 180 out while Gasser had impressed with a switch backside 180 mute to backside 360 mute, frontside 720 mute, frontside boardslide, 50/50, and a 50/50 frontside 180 out to finish things off.

Maas took over the lead in the Slopestyle World Cup standings with 1,800. Today's fourth Sarka Pancochova (CZE, 1,500) and Prior (1,379) however are up for a neck-and-neck race for the Crystal Globe with only one more event to come.
