FIS World Cup broadcasters meet in Zurich
At the invitation of FIS, TV producers representing the main Central European and Nordic broadcasters along with FIS timing and data partner Swiss Timing, the European Broadcasting Union and Infront Sports & Media, gathered in Zurich (SUI) for the FIS World Cup Broadcaster Meeting on Tuesday, 29th April 2014.

The gathering included updates from the Race Directors of Alpine, Cross-Country, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined, who each provided a review of the 2013/14 season in addition to a look ahead to any forseen changes for the upcoming season. The European Broadcasting Union and Infront Sports & Media also gave reports from the past season.

The highlight of the meeting was the calendar planning for the upcoming 2014/15 season where the various broadcasters were able to give input on ideal broadcast times for the upcoming season of races to avoid potential conflicts with other television obligations.

Following the calendar planning, the floor was open for discussion, which included topics such as television graphics and potential new formats to attract more viewers to the various FIS events in the future.

The 2014/5 season calendars for all six FIS disciplines will be finalised and approved at the upcoming FIS Congress in Barcelona (SPA) from 1st – 6th June 2014.
