The seven International Winter Sports Federations on the programme of the Olympic Winter Games met with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne (SUI) for the Debrief of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th June 2014.

To prepare for the Debrief, each of the six FIS disciplines completed a comprehensive questionnaire shortly after the Games, covering the preparation and staging of the Games.

The IOC was led by Kit McConnell, IOC Sport Director, Christian Wassmer, Winter Sport Manager and Irina Gladkih wearing two hats, firstly as Sochi 2014 Sports Director and since 1st April IOC Winter Sport Project Manager. FIS was represented by President Gian Franco Kasper and Sarah Lewis, Secretary General.

In his capacity as President of the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF), Gian Franco Kasper led the meeting and discussions. Presentations, exchange of viewpoints and discussions took place on a comprehensive list of subjects including the pre-Games preparation, Test Events, Sport Entries, Technology, Competition Schedule, Functional Services, Anti-Doping and Medical. A full session was dedicated to the report from Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of Olympic Broadcasting Services, whose outstanding broadcast coverage of Sochi 2014 was highly acclaimed by the IOC, International Federations and broadcasters. Notable headlines included that the Winter Games were broadcast in several new regions of the world for the first time and the digital broadcast made a huge impact globally.

The meeting served as preparation for the full Debrief of the Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi with all stakeholders that will take place in PyeongChang (KOR) at the end of June, at which Sarah Lewis will represent the International Federations.
