No surprises at FIS fall meetings
As usual, the annual fall meetings of the International Ski Federation FIS were held in Zurich, Switzerland.

Among other issues, the competition format where the athletes are competing in groups, which was tested at the Grand Prix events in Wisla (POL), Einsiedeln (SUI) and Courchevel (FRA), was also discussed. This format will not be used in the upcoming winter.

There will only be some minor modifications of the TV graphics.

The ski jumping suits (1-2 centimeters bigger than last winter), which were tested during the summer, can also be used in winter. The tests of the back protectors were successful, the protectors can be used in the competitions.

Extensive tests in training

Further extensive tests will be held at the facility in Einsiedeln mid October. Athletes of Austria, Germany and Switzerland will make many jumps with different jumping suits there. The data concerning the flying curve and the pressure at the landing will be collected and analyzed in order to gain information regarding the different parameters of the suits and the impact of these parameters.

The ski jumping calendars for summer (FIS Grand Prix) and winter (FIS World Cup) will remain tight. "A large number of organizers is applying to host competitions in summer and winter", FIS race director Walter Hofer told.
