Everything's ready, set, go for the very first World Cup of the 2013/14 season. The preparations in Ruka are all going to plan and the snow control for the Northern Finnish venue was positive. The HS 140 Ruktunturi hill is already open for training and used by the teams to get the first snow jumps of the year under their belts.
4 of 5 kilometres of the competition tracks are already skiable and for the rest, mainly the stadium area, there is enough snow in storage. OC Secretary General, Seppo Linjakumpu: "We won't face any problems with snow this year. The weather forecast tell us about temperatures from -2 till -10 °C for the competition period as of now." Test and warm up areas will be prepared with artificial snow during this week and at the beginning of next week.
