FIS Development Programme Alpine Training Camp 2014
The FIS Development Programme Alpine Training Camp saw the participation of 40 athletes from 25 nations. The participants were split into two groups to provide more individualised and focused training sessions.
The first group of 22 participants started the training at the Stubai Glacier (AUT) on 26th October. The athletes took advantage of excellent piste and snow conditions. They had intensive on-snow training in the mornings and in the afternoons they continued their training in the gym or on the sports field.
After the first group finished on 23rd November, the second group arrived to start its training in Hintertux (AUT). After the initial days the training was moved to various locations to find the best possible snow conditions. The camp successfully came to an end on 20th December.
Despite the difficult snow conditions, especially during the second training period, successful and intensive training sessions could be carried out. The FIS Development Programme training camp provided an excellent opportunity for athletes to participate in structured and professional training sessions. There are several athletes who used the camp as a preparation for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2015 in Vail and Beaver Creek (USA) and we wish them the best of luck for their participation!
The following nations participated: ARG, ARM, BLR, BEL, CHI, CYP, DAN, EST, GEO, GRE, HUN, IND, IRA, IRE, KAZ, KGZ, LAT, ;ON, MGL, NEP, PAK, POR, ROU, TUR, UKR, UZB
