Leading figures from the world of sport governance and major event ownership convened in Glasgow on Monday and Tuesday for the Host City 2016 Exhibition and Conference to discuss how to attract and host secure and engaging events.

The executive board of the Ski Association of Slovenia gave the green light for a candidacy of Planica to host the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships 2023.

Following the cancellation of the races in Beaver Creek, the French resort of Val d’Isère has been confirmed to take over the Downhill, Super-G and Giant Slalom events on 2nd, 3rd and 4th December 2016.

Unfortunately, the Audi FIS Birds of Prey World Cup Downhill, Super G, and Giant Slalom races scheduled for 2nd, 3rd and 4th December 2016 have to be cancelled after today’s negative snow control.

At its meeting during the FIS Congress 2016, the Council approved the reorganisation of Snowboard and Freestyle Skiing into a single and harmonised Committee, the ‘Freestyle, FreeSki and Snowboard Committee’.

Following the meeting of the FIS Council on 5^th November 2016 in Oberhofen (SUI), one of the important topics on the agenda was establishing the FIS Universal Code of Ethics.

A Technical Delegates (TDs) seminar for Alpine Skiing took place last weekend in Barcelona (ESP).
