15th FIS Youth and Children’s Seminar largest to date

The 15th edition of the Youth and Children’s Seminar on 4th October in Zurich (SUI) was the largest to date with 137 attendees from 51 countries.

With the turn of the calendar to October along with the conclusion of the Southern Hemisphere season and the autumn chill in the air, it can only mean that it is time for us to turn our attention to the slopes and the start of the FIS Nordic and Alpine Ski World Cup seasons.

FIS Technical Committee Meetings next week in Zurich

From 3rd-7th October 2017, over 750 members of the extended FIS family will descend on Zurich (SUI) to take part in more than 50 meetings at the Hilton Airport Hotel, which has been the venue of the annual meetings since 2002.
Falun returns with Nordic Ski Premiere

After hosting the successful World Championships in 2015 but many tough years for the disciplines of Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping in Sweden, new steps are taken  to bring the two Nordic sports back into the fold in the Scandinavian country.

FIS Leader’s Seminar held in Brussels

The annual FIS Leaders’ Seminar was successfully staged last weekend in Brussels (BEL) with a diverse group of more than 45 participants from 24 different nations.

FIS Academy names Programme Director for Get into Snow Sports

FIS Academy, a joint venture between FIS and the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) which acts as the global educational division of FIS, has appointed Riikka Rakic as the Programme Director of its new ‘Get into Snow Sports’ (GISS) initiative.а
FIS Statement on CAS decision of Therese Johaug sanction

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has partially upheld an appeal by the International Ski Federation (FIS) against Norwegian Cross-Country Skier Therese Johaug and the Adjudication Committee of the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sport (Decision 10th February 2017).
