Olympic Day celebrations took place all over the world on 23^rd June 2017 with close to six million people, young and old alike, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle and celebrating the birth of the modern Olympic Games and its values.

On 31^st May 2017, the FIS SnowKidz season officially closed as the largest season on record. 

Bringing together key decision makers from the European Union and the Olympic Sport Movement, the European Evening of Sport gathered more than 250 participants on 19^th June 2017 in Brussels (BEL).

The 2019 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships has joined forces with the Jämtland County government to promote sustainable development and limit climate impact through fossil fuel free World Championships, it was announced last week.

Today the International Ski Federation (FIS) and Alisports announced a new cooperation agreement at the Multifunction Studio of the Alibaba Sports Group company that will see an initial push to activate 30 million Chinese snow sport participants.

The FIS Directory 2017 will again be available at the FIS Technical Committee Meetings in autumn 2017.

Serving as an excellent opportunity to learn and share, the annual FIS Leaders’ Seminar as part of the FIS Development Programme will be held from 23^rd-25^th August 2017 in Brussels (BEL).

In his position as the ladies' Chief Race Director, Atle Skaardal is constantly reevaluating the ladies' World Cup Tour and pushing for the best possible events in winter. At the spring meetings in Portoroz, he took a step back, reflected on the situation and shared his toughts on different hot topics.

With the FIS Calendar Conference coming to an end in Portoroz, Slovenia, the starting shot for a Ladies’ Nordic Combined Continental Cup has officially been given. After a final presentation in the Nordic Combined Committee, the rules for the tour were finalised and received their official approval by the FIS Council.

The FIS Calendar-Conference was held this week in the Slovenian coastal town of Portoroz. There the FIS Council also made some decisions regarding proposals which were worked out by the Ski Jumping Committee in its meeting earlier.
