Japanese victory in Zao

Yuki Ito won the first individual competition of the FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping in Zao (JPN). The local hero got for her jumps to 89,5 and 94,0 meters 213,6 points. That gave her an advantage of 0,3 points on Manuela Malsiner of Italy, who surprisingly finished second. Third place went to Russia´s Irina Avvakumova.


Applications to host 52nd International Ski Congress

FIS member National Ski Associations can still submit their candidacy to host the 52nd International Ski Congress in 2020. The application deadline is 31st March 2017.

Second Zauchensee training cancelled, downhill still on schedule for Saturday

Too much snowfall on course forced the cancellation of Thursday's downhill training run for the ladies at Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Austria, and a similar fate struck the plan on Friday. Despite workers clearing the course in time for Friday's training run, heavy snowfall picked up just before racers' inspection and continued throughout the day.

Ski cross qualifications cancelled in Watles

Due to the strong wind, low visibility and continuing snowfall especially in the higher sections of the ski cross course in Watles (ITA), the qualifications for both Saturday's and Sunday's races had to be cancelled.
