FIS is pleased to announce the receipt of the Candidature from Zhangjiakou / Genting Resort (CHN) to host the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in 2021.

Planica is one of three candidates bidding to host the 2021 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and the sole candidate applying for the 2020 FIS Ski Flying World Championships

With the countdown clock for the 2017 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti (FIN) hitting the 300-day mark tomorrow, the Organising Committee had a busy week, holding the important World Broadcaster meeting, immediately followed by the equally significant Coordination Group meetings.

The FIS Technical Committee Meetings 2016 will be held from 27^th September – 1^st October at the traditional location of the Hilton Zurich Airport Hotel (SUI).

The FIS Development Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Training Camp 2016 was successfully held in Silvaplana (SUI) from 13^th-18^th April 2016. Twelve participants from Estonia, Serbia, Lebanon and Lithuania benefited from excellent slopes and snow conditions as well as a great snow park in Corvatsch.

Less than a month after the successful conclusion of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals in St. Moritz (SUI), the Coordination Group returned to the Engadine valley for the last spring meeting before St. Moritz hosts the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in February 2017.

Alongside the SportAccord Convention and conference sessions in Lausanne (SUI), the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF) chaired by FIS President Gian Franco Kasper held its Annual General Assembly on 19^th April 2016 to discuss various common issues to each of the Winter Federations related to the planning of PyeongChang 2018, Beijing 2022 and Lausanne 2020, anti-doping work and challenges together with WADA, as well as the implementation of the Olympic Channel.

With the winter 2015/16 in the books, all thoughts and efforts are now directed towards the upcoming season 2016/17 and a workshop of international TV experts for Nordic Combined and Cross-Country Skiing continued right in this vein after the Spring Meetings in Zürich made first steps into a new season last week.

The FIS Nordic Combined meetings in Zurich (SUI) held sessions of the Executive Board and the Sub-Committee for Rules, Officials & Control.

At the traditional spring meetings of the Ski Jumping Sub-Committees in Zurich (SUI) the provisional competition calendars for summer 2016 and the winter season 2016/17 were discussed.
