FIS Snowboard Assistant Race Director Roberto Moresi was in PyeongChang last week to evaluate potential venues together with the PyeongChang Olympic Organising Committee (POCOG) for staging the Snowboard Big Air competitions which were newly added to the Olympic Programme for 2018. The proposed venues are located in the existing Bokwang Pheonix Park, the Alpensia Ski Jumping stadium and Gangneung stadium. The venues were inspected with a focus on safety and technical aspects as well as to match the expectations of athletes to allow them to showcase their spectacular tricks and flips.

POCOG and the IOC will evaluate the different organisational, logistical and costs factors in view of the entire Games organisation before deciding on the location of the event.
