Alexander Zhukov: “Russian Olympic Committee is responsible of funding events, which don’t receive money from the Ministry of sports”
President of the Russian Olympic Committee talks foreign coaches and specialists, several pre-olympic programs.
“We have a good and well-funded program of preparation for the Olympic Games. Government funds it, and the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) is responsible for supporting events which don’t get money from the Ministry of sports, - says Zhukov. – Particularly, it is the invitation of international coaches and specialists, doctors and technical specialists”.
Due to Zhukov’s words the amount of financing is 2,6 billion rubles (approximate 86 million USD). “Gazprom” company is the main source of investment.
“Program is very important and its realization is successful. ROC buys equipment and inventory. Preparation of skis and snowboards for the weather conditions of Sochi is a very important field”.
