The Olympic torch will be brought to the highest point of Europe – Elbrus (5642).

One of the places where the Olympic torch relay will take place is th Kabardino-BalkariaRepublic. As it was stated today by the Minister of sport, tourism of the KBR Anatoliy Dvurechenskiy, the Olympic torch will come to the highest peak of Europe. “A group of alpinists and lifesaversof KBR will bring the torch to the peak of Elbrus in a icon-lamp, the torches will be flamed up there and then they’ll be brought to the Paskukhov’s mountain. Than snowboarders and skiers will bring it down to the Azau terrain,” – said Dvurecheskiy.

Olympic Champions, artists, teachers, doctors and other people who influenced the progress of the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic are in the list of candidates for participation in the Olympic torch relay.
