Czech riders take slopestyle Europa Cup title
Katerina Vojackova and Petr Horak have clinched the title of the 2015 slopestyle Europa Cup tour.
While Vojackova brought home a sixth rank finish in the ladies competition of the season's last event staged at Corvatsch, Switzerland, securing her second title, Horak underlined his claim on the personal World Cup spot by rounding out the men's podium as third behind Swiss riders Lucien Koch, the new national champion and Jonas Boesiger.
In the women's event, Carla Somaini had led a Swiss podium sweep earning the national title ahead of Celia Petrig and Elena Koenz.
“I feel really good with this title,” said Horak after the season's final. “I only went to half of the contests this winter, so I'm pretty surprised to come out on top of the ranking. I'm happy!”
His fellow countrywoman Vojackova, who had felt the honour as EC winner in 2012 already added: “It's perfect to win the title again after I finished in second position last year.”
Vojackova earned her career's second with 2,045 edging off Russia's Ekaterina Kosova (1,835) to the second spot with Lea Jugovac (CRO, 1,365) taking third.
Horak finished the season off with 1,800 ahead of Petar Gyosharkov (BUL, 1,555) and Alois Lindmoser (AUT, 1,211).
