Switzerland's very own freestyle talent Lia-Mara Boesch has been rewarded for her impressive 2014-15 season celebrating a team-intern boost from zero to hero.
The 20-year-old newcomer took the scene by storm last winter impressing everyone with a fifth rank finish at the first ever big air world championships event for women held at Kreischberg, Austria last winter; especially as the goofy rider had won the qualification in style.
The 2014 slopestyle national championships bronze medallist then kept the momentum on the World Cup tour bringing home a second rank finish from Quebec City – it was her first ever World Cup event.
Thanks to those unexpected results, Boesch, last season only equipped with rookie status, gained the national team membership joining the likes of 2014 Olympic halfpipe champion Iouri Podladtchikov or 2015 big air world champion Elena Koenz.
Besides Boesch, also former pro team members Jonas Boesiger and Lucien Koch, winner of the 2015 Slopestyle World Cup finals in Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republlic were promoted from the pro to the Swiss national team which features a total of ten athletes.
In addition, there are eleven more kids with pro team or challenger status.
