Roman Koudelka wins home event in Lomnice
In Lomnice nad Popelkou (CZE), the home town of Roman Koudelka and Cestmir Kozisek, the summer season was opened with the "Samohyl Ski Jumping Exhibition" on Friday.

In this competition on the K70 hill, the athletes started from different gates, determined according to the age of the competitor and the various categories (ladies, men, juniors, nordic combined).

Local hero Roman Koudelka won the competition without judges' marks with a total distance of 155 m (76 m and 79 m). The seventh of last season's overall World Cup jumped two meters longer than Tomas Portyk (77.5 m and 75. m). With 148.5 m (73.5 m and 75 m), Cestmir Kozisek came in third.

Behind Viktor Polasek (73 m and 75 m), the two veterans Jakub Janda (71.5 m and 74 m) and Jan Matura (72.5 m and 73 m) finished fifth and sixth.

"I enjoyed it. I didn't expect that many people, because it was quite cold. About a month ago the ice hocky team of Lomnice was fighting to get to the second division. I was cheering them on and they promised me to come to this exhibition to cheer me on as well. And they did", told Roman Koudelka.

And Cestmir Kozisek also had fun at this event. "I love this competition in Lomnice. There are always a lot of spectators and the atmosphere is spectacular. It's a great chance to show the young children that our sport is also about entertainment. Maybe we convinced some of them to start ski jumping, too."

After this event the Czech jumpers could enjoy a few days off, before they will travel to Wisla (POL) on Tuesday for a training camp.
