Victories for Janne Ahonen and Jarkko Maeaettae
This week two domestic competitions were held in Finland. The events took place on the normal hills in Vuokatti and Rovaniemi.
Janne Ahonen won on Wednesday in Vuokatti with jumps on 100 m and 95 m and a total of 260.0 points close ahead of Jarkko Maeaettae, who scored 258.5 points with 98 m and 95 m. Over 30 points behind the two best athletes of the day, Ville Larinto came in third with 90 m and 90.5 m (227.0 points).
"I was jumping pretty well in the trial round and in the first round, the second jump in the competition was not that good anymore. If you train hard and do a lot of physical training, of course the technique suffers a bit", Ahonen was quoted on hiihtoliitto.fi.
The junior's competition was won by Willi Loukasmaeki with 96 m and 93.5 m (244.5 points), followed by Juho Virrantalo (95 m/92 m; 240.5 points) and Pyry Ruikka (88 m/91.5 m; 221.5 points).
Julia Kykkaenen (85 m/ 92.5 m; 217.5 points) took a more than clear win in the ladies' event, ahead of Susanna Forsstroem (68 m/68.5 m; 122.5 points) and Jenny Rautionaho (63 m/63 m; 98.5 points).

Ville Larinto came in second with 91.5 m and 96.5 m and 242.0 points, the third place went to Juho Ojala, who was seventh in Vuokatti, with 90.5 m and 93 m (233.0 points).
