A premiere this summer: The "Beskydy Tour"

The first edition of the "Beskydy Tour" will be held this summer as part of the Continental Cup. A total of three competitions at three different venues in two countries will take place from August 18th to 20th.

It all starts on Friday evening with the first COC event of the weekend in Szczyrk (POL), the Adam Malysz Cup in Wisla (POL) follows on Saturday and this short tour concludes with the final in Frenstat pod Radhostem (CZE).

This competition on Sunday is held to honor Czech Ski Jumping legend Jiri Raska, who won the first ever gold medal at Winter Olympic Games for Czechoslovakia at the Olympics in Grenoble. As a special award, the winner of the 6th "Jiri Raska Memorial" will receive a challenge cup, which is the original trophy Raska got for his win in Bischofshofen 1969.

"What makes this tour unique is that the ski jumpers will compete in three events on three different hills on three consecutive days. This is possible due to the short distance between the three venues. I'm sure that athletes and fans will enjoy this weekend", said Jan Baier of the organizing committee.

In the three competitions of the "Beskydy Tour" the athletes not only fight for the individual wins, but also for the overall title of the "Beskydy Tour". The overall winner will be awarded a special trophy and a prize money of 1500,- Euro. The second and third placed athletes will receive a prize money of € 1000,- and € 500,-, respectively.

The importance of this competition series, which was already carried out in a similar form from 1958 to 1989, is emphasized by the fact that all Czech top jumpers, among them also Jakub Janda and Roman Koudelka, already confirmed their participation.
