Exciting Nordic Training Camp for developing ski nations

Under the umbrella of the FIS Development Programme, a successful Nordic Training Camp for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined was staged in Tarvisio (ITA), Planica (SLO) and Villach (AUT) from 6th-12th January 2018.

A total of 28 athletes and 14 coaches from six developing ski nations (BUL, GEO, HUN, LAT, SVK and ROU) participated in the week-long camp, which featured training sessions on the various jumping hills. Further activities included video analysis, strength training and tips on ski waxing. The camp was rounded off by a special seminar on the topic of stretching.

Camp coordinator Sandro Pertile commented: “It was great to see the positive development of the athletes and coaches over the course of the week. The camp faced some challenging weather conditions with heavy rain and the hill preparation was influenced by this factor. However, the participants dealt with the challenges with great motivation as part of their training experience. We wish them all the best for their upcoming competitions.”
