Juliane Seyfarth convincing in training

Germany's Juliane Seyfarth showed a convincing performance with two very strong jumps in the official training of the ladies for the FIS Grand Prix in Chaikovsky (RUS) this weekend.

In good conditions with sunshine and slightly changing winds, the 28-year-old of the ski club in Ruhla showed the longest jumps in the first two rounds with 131 m and 131.5 m. She then skipped the third training jump on Friday after this very good performance. Due to the low number of participants, a qualification was not necessary.

In the first round of the training session, Sara Takanashi of Japan, who is leading the overall ranking of the Grand Prix with four wins, was second with 122 m. She was followed by Ema Klinec of Slovenia (118m) and the two Norwegians Maren Lundby (118 m) and Anna Odine Stroem (115 m).

Olympic champion Maren Lundby then came in second behind Juliane Seyfarth in the second round with 126 m, starting from two gates lower than the German. The third-longest jump was shown by Ema Klinec with 125 m, but she had significantly better conditions than Sara Takanashi, who jumped on 118 m.

Young Slovene Ema Klinec then confirmed her currently very good shape with the best jump in the third round of 128.5 m and came in ahead of Sara Takanashi (118 m) and Maren Lundby (116 m).

The two Austrians Chiara Hoelzl and Jacqueline Seifriedsberger could not take part in today's training because their skis did not arrive in Chaikovsky on time. Both will get the chance to make additional training jumps before the trial round on Saturday and so the Austrian will be able to compete in the mixed team event at 12 pm CET.
