Chemmy Alcott forced to train with Norwegians
The No1 UK alpine female skier will be training with Team Norway due to a lack of funding from the British authorities.

Chemmy Alcott has been the best British female skier for many years.

She came 11th at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and reached the same position at Turin in Italy 4 years earlier.

In 2010 she was ranked 8th in the world before injury struck as she crashed badly at Lake Louise, Canada, in 2011.

She has fought back but is now an outside chance for any sort of Olympic medal at the Sochi Winter Olympics next February.

By her own admission she is aiming for a Top 8 placing at best.

"I used to get really bitter and it used to make me really sad that I was ranked eighth in the world and not getting any money from UK Sport but I've got used to it now," said Chemmy to the BBC.

"This is my last Olympics and it could be my last season skiing. I've got a lot to prove and I don't want to waste any energy on fighting the system anymore. So I'm just going out there with my head down and my focus on achieving my best result ever at Sochi. That's the aim and always has been."
