Parallel Giant Slalom in La Molina cancelled
The 2013 FIS Snowboard World Cup season's last parallel giant slalom race scheduled for March 8, 2014, in La Molina has to be cancelled due to the continuing difficult economic environment in Spain.

As a result, the Parallel World Cup will conclude after a total of six races with the last event staged in Sudelfeld, Germany, on February 1, 2014, just before the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi kick off.

FIS Race Director Uwe Beier said: “The local Organising Committee had to take the race off the calendar due to the current financial situation. They have tried everything but unfortunately cannot host the event.”

Although the parallel giant slalom had to be withdrawn, this winter's last snowboard cross race scheduled for March 9, 2014, on the 2011 FIS World Championships hill is not affected and can be staged.
