For the ninth year in a row the FIS Rollerski World Cup opener in Oroslavje ended with a sprint competition.

As in previous years, the battle for victory was between Italy and Russia, with Russians prevailing, and prooving their domination in the rollerski sport. In the senior category Victor Karasev was victorious over Alessio Berlanda (ITA).

In the senior ladies category Anastazia Voronina won ahead of Elisa Fulcheri (ITA) and Nina Broznic (CRO).

Victory in junior men category went to Vitaly Smirnov. Junior ladies class was won by Lisa Bolzan.
