Swedish Ski team on snow in Bruksvallarna
Thanks to a massive effort from the ski lovers in Bruksvallarna the National team can implement their final training camp on snow before the season premiere in Härjedalen.

"Here, we have worked out a 3.3 km long loop of artificial snow, and it will hopefully be longer during the week," says Head coach Rikard Grip.

The weather gods have kept the team hoping until the last minute. At noon last Thursday, the final decision was made that the ski camp would be conducted in Bruksvallarna. "They have the capacity available in Bruksvallarna to produce very artificial snow in a relatively short time if it is just minus one degrees celcius. We have plus degrees today (Monday), but forecasts say we will go under freezing temperatures again in the middle of the week and then we believe and hope to have at least five kilometers of trails in the village," says an optimistic coach.

The team has been working hard since early May and now enter a transition phase as they approach the racing season. "Before the season premiere here in Bruksvallarna 21-23, November it remains to trim shape, skiing technique and equipment. The wax team is in place and many ski tests will be done so that the athletes can feel safe with their ski selections," says Grip.

Unforunately, missing from the 18 member squad is Hanna Erikson. "Hanna has a stress fracture in her back and has to rest from training. Rehabilitation may take from three to six months," said team doctor Per "peg" Andersson.

"It feels like a nightmare and I'm really sad, especially when we are at home World Championships in Falun in February that I had been looking forward to. I had also been looking forward to go SM Örebro because I was born there. Now I can focus on rehab exercises to get back as soon as possible. I feel safe in my rehab plan and I am working to get stronger from this injury," says Erikson

"We will of course support Hanna with the resources we have available for her to get the best rehabilitation. Hanna is young and has a bright future once she has recovered," says Grip.
