Schlierenzauer will make the first jump on the new Kulm-hill
Gregor Schlierenzauer shall make the first jump on the new ski flying hill at the Kulm in Bad Mitterndorf on January 8th.

"Who, if not Gregor? He won here three times and holds the hill record with 215.5 m. Gregor shall be the first to lead the Kulm into a new era", said Hubert Neuper, head of the organizing committee.

The 24-year-old is looking forward to this special jump, which will be yet another highlight for him right after the 4-Hills-Tournament. "For me the Kulm is part of sports history, with a lot of great moments and exciting memories. The hill shall now be similar to Vikersund, but still it will be unique as a whole and so a very special place that earnes respect but also calls for passion. This, together with the home ground advantage, makes ski flying even better then it usually is. I'm sure that everyone will enjoy it, the athletes and the spectators."

After the first jumps on the new facility on Thursday, the official program of the weekend will start with the training and qualification on Friday, January 9th. Two individual competitions will then follow on Saturday and Sunday.
