First win this season for Peter Prevc
Peter Prevc took his first win this season at the World Cup in Sapporo. The Slovene posted jumps on 130 m and 131 m and with 276.4 points he finished ahead of Stefan Kraft and Roman Koudelka.

Prevc said afterwards: “I feel amazing today. I've been in the Top 10 in almost every competition this winter, but this was finally my first victory. The conditions were untypical for Sapporo and I liked it very much. I don't think about the overall World Cup yet, it will be decided in Scandinavia, not before."

Great streak for Kraft

4-Hills-Tournament winner Kraft jumped on 127.5 m and 131 m and achieved his sixth podium finish in a row. At the end he missed the win by 5.1 points. The Austrian told: “"It was a really fair competition and it was a lot of fun. There were a lot of long jumps and everything went well for me. I hope for another fair competition tomorrow. I did my best to beat Peter today, but he was too strong. He deserves his first win this season. I don't know why I'm so good right now, it just goes well for me."

Roman Koudelka came in third with 127.5 m and 130.5 m and 269.3 points. The Czech was happy about this result: “After the long trip to Japan it was a very good day. I had a perfect timing in both jumps and I'm really satisfied with the result. It's very difficult to jump on this hill because of the changing wind, but today it was easy."

Hayboeck misses the podium

Michael Hayboeck, in the lead after the first round, finished fourth with 132 m and 127 m and 268.6 points.

10.1 points behind, Jurij Tepes was fifth with jumps on 128 m and 129 m. Once again Noriaki Kasai could not win at home, he was sixth with 256.2 points. Kamil Stoch, the winner of the competition in Zakopane, followed 3.4 points behind in seventh, ahead of Norwegian Anders Fannemel (252.4 points). French Vincent Descombes Sevoie achieved the first Top 10 result of his career in ninth with 243.6 points. Manuel Poppinger came in tenth.

Behind Taku Takeuchi, Michael Neumayer was the best of the German team in 12th. It was a disappointing day for Richard Freitag, who was only 25th, and Markus Eisenbichler, who even missed the qualify for the final round.

Gregor Deschwanden will be satisfied with his 13th place, followed by Daiki Ito and Phillip Sjoeen in 14th and 15th. The Polish athletes showed a good team performance with Piotr Zyla, Jan Ziobro and Aleksander Zniszczol in 16th, 18th and 19th. The only Finn who scored World Cup points today was Sami Niemi in 30th.
