Daniela Iraschko-Stolz wins in Oberstdorf
Olympic Champion Carina Vogt missed the home victory in Oberstdorf, but she came in on a very good second place behind Austrian Daniela Iraschko-Stolz. The third place went to Sara Takanashi.

Iraschko-Stolz scored 245.2 points with her jumps on 101 m and 95 m and had a lead of 7.5 points over Vogt. She said afterwards: “It was a perfect day for me, I'm very happy about my first win this season. I had two good jumps, so far I have been jumping well in training and wasn't able to show it in the competition. I'm happy that I did that today and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.” Carino Vogt jumped on 96 m and 95.5 m and said: “The support of the audience was fantastic. This is my home town, that's why the second place is special. The new laser line is a good thing. I had the feeling I can jump even longer. This would be nice to have in all competitions. Tomorrow I would like to do as well as today, maybe even a bit better.”

Takanashi close ahead of Seifriedsberger

With jumps on the exact same distances, Sara Takanashi reached a total of 232.1 points and finished 0.6 points ahead of Jacqueline Seifriedsberger. The overall World Cup winner said: “It's my first time in Oberstdorf and I really enjoy it. The stadium is very nice. Unfortunately I was not able to show two good jumps. I was a bit too late at the take-off. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and I want to improve my performance.” Jacqueline Seifriedsberger jumped on 93 m and 96.5 m.

The fifth place went to the winner of the qualification, Taylor Henrich of Canada, with 95 m and 94 m and 222.8 points. She scored World Cup points for the first time this season and achieved her best result so far. 10.1 points behind, Katharina Althaus came in sixth, the seventh place went to American Nita Englund with 211.4 points. Spela Rogelj of Slovenia finished eighth with 208.9 points. Her teammate Maja Vtic (204.1 points) was tenth, behind Yuki Ito (205.0 points).

The good team performance of Japan was completed by Yuka Seto and Kaori Iwabuchi in 11th and 12th. Coline Mattel achieved her best result this season in 13th, Irina Avvakumova was 14th and is still struggling with her shape. Behind Eva Logar in 15th, the two Americans Jessica Jerome and Sarah Hendrickson came in 16th and 17th. Evelyn Insam scored points for Italy in 29th.
