Carina Vogt wins in Hinzenbach
Carina Vogt won the second individual competition in Hinzenbach. The Olympic Champion scored 245.2 points with her jumps on 92 m and 90 m and took her second win in the World Cup. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz finished second only 0.4 points behind Vogt, Spela Rogelj of Slovenia came in third.
The winner said afterwards: “It's great that I could already win two World Cups this year. The hill was very well prepared and we had good conditions. It was a lot of fun today. I hope I also show such a good performance in Rasnov. It was nice to beat Daniela in front of her home crowd, after she won both of my home competitions.”
Iraschko-Stolz, who won the last three competitions, jumped on 90.5 m and 92.5 m and said: “I'm satisfied with the weekend here in Hinzenbach. Maybe I lost a few points in the first round, but all in all I was jumping on a high level and it feels easy for me right now. I'm really happy. Now I'll go home and try to calm down a bit.”
Spela Rogelj achieved her fourth podium result this season with 88 m and 87.5 m and 235.0 points and said: “Yesterday I didn't have good conditions in the first round, in the final I showed what I can do. Today's third place is a very good result for me. I was training hard and could improve my performance. I think everyone is working hard and I want to beat Daniela in my home competitions in Ljubno.”
Ito best Japanese
With 233.2 points and two jumps on 87 m, Yuki Ito was fourth. 1.3 points behind, Taylor Henrich came in fifth with 88 m and 87.5 m. Behind Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, who was sixth with 230.5 points, American Nita Englund achieved her best result in the World Cup in seventh.
Sara Takanashi was eighth with 228.3 points, this was one of her worst results in the World Cup. Katharina Althaus was ninth with 224.3 points, Eva Pinkelnig followed in tenth. Behind Maja Vtic, Juliane Seyfarth achieved her second best World Cup result in 12th. Line Jahr shared the 13th place with her teammate Maren Lundby. Sarah Hendrickson completed the Top 15.
EYOF winner with good result
Sofia Tikhonova, who won Gold and Silver at the EYOF, was 17th, ahead of her teammate Irian Avvakumova. Italian Elena Runggaldier achieved her best result this season in 24th.
Daniela Iraschko-Stolz leads the overall World Cup with 622 points. Carina Vogt follows in second with 568 points, ahead of defending Champion Sara Takanashi (493 points). Spela Rogelj is fourth, 101 points behind.
Next weekend the Ladies' World Cup will continue in Rasnov (ROM).
