Back-to-back GS victories for Shiffrin in Semmering

The second ladies' World Cup giant slalom in Semmering, Austria, had nearly the same podium as the first except for the third-place finisher, as Viktoria Rebensburg replaced Manuela Moelgg from the previous day.

The cancelled Super-G of Lake Louise has been rescheduled in Santa Caterina, ahead of the traditional downhill on 28thand the alpine combined on 29th. Norway’s Kjetil Jansrud was unbeatable on the Deborah Compagnoni course today. Hannes Reichelt and Dominik Paris rounded out the podium.

The replacement race from the cancelled GS in Courchevel was held in Semmering on Tuesday to the delight of the Austrian crowd in attendance. An exciting opening run had athletes continuing to come down with the lead, one besting the next even outside the top seed.

The final stage of the 2016 Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup Cross Alps Tour took to the slopes of Innichen/San Candido (ITA) this week for a pair of back-to-back competitions on Wednesday and Thursday, and when it was all said and done we would see a pair of repeat winners in Heidi Zacher (GER) and Filip Flisar (SLO) while the big trophies for Cross Alps Tour overall winners would go Marielle Thompson (CAN) and Jean Frederic Chapuis (FRA).

Russia tops the podium in aerials team event at Beida Lake

The first - and only - aerials team event of the season closed out the 2016/17 aerials World Cup season-opening weekend in Beida Lake (CHN) on Sunday, with the young Russian squad of Liubov Nikitina, Maxim Burov, and Alexandra Orlova - just 17, 18, and 19 years old, respectively - besting all comers in the combined-score competition.
