The 2015 FIS Rollerski World Championships got underway in Italy's Val di Fiemme yesterday with an uphill Interval Start race in classic technique and Maicol Rastelli of Italy and Linn Sömskar of Sweden seized the first gold medals of the tournament.

Originally, roller skis were born to allow winter sports' specialists to train without any snow during off season.

After the places one and three in the first men's COC competition in Oslo, two of the local heroes were also on the podium in Sunday's event. Daniel Andre Tande and Fredrik Bjerkeengen secured the double victory for the hosting team.

Over the past weekend the FIS Rollerski World Cup stopped in city of Trento and Monte Bondone,Italy. The competition programme featured sprint in free technique and an uphill competition to Monte Bondone.

The first of two Continental Cup competitions on the Midtstubakken in Oslo (NOR) ended with a home win of Halvor Egner Granerud.

Ten nations are going to take part in theFIS Rollerski World Cup in Trento/Monte Bondone (ITA). The competition takes place this weekend in Trento and Monte Bondone.
