The FIS Marathon Cup has crowned the world’s best long distance Cross-Country skiers at the Ugra Ski Marathion (RUS) on 11th April. Tatiana Mannima (EST) and Petr Novak (CZE) claimed the titles of overall champions.

After some heavy rain over the last days, the organising committee of the last FIS Marathon Cup of the season 2014/15 decided to shorten the race course from 50km FT to 35km FT, using loops of 15km and an additional loop of 5km.

On 3rd April 2014, Simone Origone (ITA) beat his own Speed Skiing world record when he raced to a top speed of 252.632 kilometres per hour on the speed skiing slope in Vars (FRA), which even has a section measured at 98% steep.

Every season end is marked by the retirement of athletes who bring down the curtain on their careers. This year is no exception.

FIS Marathon Cup is going to wrap up in Khanty- Mansyisk in Russia next Saturday, 11th April. The FIS Marathon Cup 2015 has visited 8 venues in 7 countries. It started in the middle of December in Livigno, ITA.

In less than 100 days the FIS Rollerski World Cup is going to start in Oroslavje, (CRO)

The final event of the 2015 Junior World Championships took place Wednesday, as ski cross victories for India Sherret (CAN) and Tyler Wallasch (USA) closed out nine days of Freestyle action in Valmalenco, Italy.

For the 5th time, young skiers aged 9 to 15 from the five winter sports resorts of Courchevel (FRA), Madesimo (ITA), Saas-Fee (SUI), Schruns (AUT) and Oberstdorf (GER) will fight for top spots in slalom and giant slalom as part of the Youth Cup of the international skiing centres from 7th-9th April 2015 in Schruns (AUT).

After an idle day yesterday at the FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships, the action was back on in Valmalenco (ITA) with the men’s and ladies‘ halfpipe competitions.

Athletes from the hosting nation have dominated the last two Europa Cup snowboard cross races of a long season staged as back-to-back races in Sportgastein, Austria last weekend.
